ReadyConnect® Reservationless Conferencing
Is there a limit to how many people can be on the call?
While ACT's ReadyConnect service does not have a limit for
the number of callers, calls with more than 50 participants should consider
scheduling an
Operator Assisted or
Elite call due to the difficulty of self-managing a large call.
Do I need to make a reservation for this call?
Since this is a self-managed service, there's no need to reserve each call. Once
you have created your ReadyConnect account with us, your dial-in numbers and
passcodes are unique to you, permanent and available 24 hours a day, seven days
a week.
Which passcode and dial-in numbers should I give out and how?
The Host passcode is for whoever will be leading the call; the Participant
passcode is for all others. We suggest you send the Participant passcode and
dial-in numbers via email for ease of distribution.
If the Host needs to hang up before the call is over, can the call still
continue?
Yes. The Host can press *#9 for the Conference Continuation feature, which
enables the conference to continue even after the Host disconnects. Only the
Participant features are enabled during Conference Continuation, and the
conference ends when the last Participant disconnects from the conference.
Why is the conference silent?
As the Host, once you establish your call, it will be silent until your first
Participant joins. There will be a tone to notify you when each Participant
joins the call.
Is there a way to start the call before the Host joins?
The Host must be on the conference call in order to start
the meeting.
Why is my passcode not working?
We suggest you retry the dial-in phone number and passcode. If the passcode
still doesn't work, please contact Customer Service.
How do I use the features of ReadyConnect?
To use ReadyConnect features, press ** for the Options Menu (note: all options
are available only to the Host, with exception of the Self-Mute and Operator
Assistance features). To select a feature from the Options Menu, wait until the
message is complete, and then select the feature – or press ** again to stop the
message and select the feature.
How do I access my recording?
You can access your recording by dialing the replay number on your ReadyConnect
Account Confirmation Form. Please note that you must have your Confirmation
Number and Participant passcode to access a recorded call. Both your Confirmation Number and Participant Passcode were supplied with your confirmation, and they are also available through the iPortal account management tool.
How long is my recording available?
Multiple recordings (up to 10) can be archived, and each
will remain available for 90 days. Recordings over 90 days old will be
automatically deleted.
Can I show slides during a ReadyConnect conference?
Yes! ReadyConnect Web Meeting enables
you to show slide presentations, collaborate on a variety of documents, share
applications and much more.
Go to the
ReadyConnect page for more information.

When should I use an Operator Assisted or Elite service?
These high-touch, customized calls are ideal for conferences that are very
large, or when you would like participants to receive special attention. An operator
is available to dial out to participants, place participants in the conference,
conduct question-and-answer sessions and manage all the technical aspects of
the call. That lets you focus on your own communication and collaboration,
without having to worry about the details of the call itself.
How do I book a conference?
If this is your first time booking an Operator Assisted
conference, contact a member of our Sales team. Once this is
done, you will then be able to call our Reservations Department to
reserve your conference, or you can use our Online Reservation
tool.
How far in advance do I need to book a conference?
We recommend that you give 24-hour advance notice when
reserving an Operator Assisted conference so that we can ensure availability.
What pre-conference support is available?
Our friendly, experienced conference specialists are available to help you
develop a successful event strategy. They can handle all the technical aspects
of setting up the conference. An operator can read a pre-planned script
before or during your conference if you so choose. We can work together to
create a call that is customized to your needs.
