ACT Teleconferencing Powers Live Video Webcast for PGA European Tour as PGA Announced Its Richest and Most Lucrative Golf Tournament Ever
December 21, 2007
LONDON – ACT Teleconferencing Ltd, a leading independent worldwide provider of audio, web, video conferencing and webcasting services, hosted a breaking news story by the PGA European Tour to announce its richest and most lucrative professional golf tournament in the history of the game. Leveraging ACT Teleconferencing’s webcasting solutions, the PGA European Tour produced a live video webcast in London that was sent to a dozen countries worldwide.
Representatives from the PGA European Tour and Leisurecorp, the company developing Dubai’s leading residential golf community, announced they are working together to stage the world’s richest tournament ever, with $10m at stake over four rounds in the Middle East. The tournament, renamed The Dubai World Championship, will take place from 19-22 November, 2009.
Working with Four Communications, the official PR Agency of PGA European Tour, they decided to hold a worldwide webcast as the most efficient and effective way to simultaneously speak with the media around the world. For the PGA European Tour, a live video webcast would provide the immediate personal connection of a full audio and visual presentation without the travel time and costs to actually bring together people from a dozen countries.
The event included a live question-and-answer session and a video podcast available to download onto MP3 players.
