Smart Marketing in a Recession
In a recession, everyone wants to stretch their marketing dollars. Recent trends indicate that you can maximize ROI when you beef up your web site and implement a few smart marketing tactics. In its article Top 7 Marketing Tricks During a Recession, Phone+ provides seven tips. Most can be executed fairly quickly and inexpensively on your web site:
- 1. Start a blog.
- 2. Participate in other blogs.
- 3. Link your site to industry blogs.
- 4. Write and publish a book.
- 5. Offer your e-book to potential clients.
- 6. Engage in pay-per-click advertising.
- 7. Create microsites and landing pages.
ACT can help you implement several of these ideas with online ads, blog headlines and entries, industry expert articles and more. For example, create a landing page that contains a generic version of our Conservation by Collaboration calculator, an interactive tool that shows potential cost savings of conferencing versus travel.
Marketing is a lot easier when you don't have to reinvent the wheel. Check out the ACT Partner Marketing Resource Guide, and brainstorm ideas with your ACT channel marketing manager (speak to your channel marketing manager about receiving a copy of the Marketing Resource Guide).
If you're rethinking your web strategy, read the Phone+ article, Take Control of Your Web Strategy. It presents ideas to help you go beyond push marketing to active collaboration.
Funding for Marketing Activity
A recent Phone+ blog reveals that many channel partners do not take advantage of available market development funds (MDFs). We encourage you to contact ACT to find out if you meet ACT partner program requirements for MDFs to help you develop additional, profitable, recurring revenue streams – with both current and new customers.
To learn more about the ACT MDF Program or to request assistance with designing a marketing campaign, talk to your ACT channel marketing manager or channel sales manager. Qualified marketing activities must be measurable and generate demand for ACT services, and they require approval from ACT before you execute them. And remember, funds are limited and requests are prioritized. You may want to discuss your idea with your ACT channel manager before you fill out a request.
