ACT Conferencing Announces Strong Q1 Performance
Global collaboration solutions provider marks eight consecutive quarters of positive operating income and year-over-year growth
Golden, Colo., May 13, 2008 – ACT Conferencing today announced some of the strongest operating results in its nearly 20-year history. ACT, a global provider of audio, web and video collaboration solutions, attributes its notable two-year growth momentum to a culmination of strategic business initiatives including management restructuring, increased customer support, investment in pace-setting technologies and expansion of channel partnerships in key regions.
ACT marked eight consecutive quarters of positive operating income in Q1 and is debt-free. The company has experienced more than 20 percent average volume and revenue growth for the past two years through its direct and channel business. Additionally, ACTs video conferencing room rental division, Proximity, has grown 25 percent since this time last year. With the recent addition of 241 conferencing rooms in India for a total of more than 4,400 public video conferencing rooms in 141 countries, ACT Proximity is one of the worlds most widely-used conference room providers.
ACT has built its reputation by providing high-quality and competitive, managed and on-demand conferencing services. Since 2005, ACT has increased its research & development (R&D) investment four-fold compared to previous years. This investment has enabled ACT to develop advanced technology platforms that provide enhanced services and continue to attract new customers. In addition, customers appreciate that, by using ACTs collaboration solutions, they have a direct, positive impact on both the environment and their bottom line by reducing travel time and costs.
“ACT has experienced excellent growth across our entire line of collaboration solutions,” said Marina Bogard, chief sales and marketing officer, ACT Conferencing. “The investments we continue to make in our solutions, organization, and sales and channel programs aligned with our customers escalating requirements to save time and money while increasing productivity position ACT to continue this steady global growth.”
Specific to ACTs expansion in EMEA, Wainhouse Research applauded the company in its April 2008 report on the collaboration services market. According to the report, “With new people, growing profitability, and global-ready services, ACT would seem to be on the cusp of new growth and new opportunityUltimately we believe ACT can thrive based on close customer relationships, a superior global platform, and a service-orient[ed] culture.”
Author of the Wainhouse report, partner Marc Beattie said, “ACT has gained impressive traction in the collaboration services market and is in excellent financial standing. The company has a completely integrated global bridging system where any account works on any bridge worldwide. This is something many larger CSPs [Collaboration Services Providers] lack and is a major competitive advantage for ACT. We predict the company will continue to gain market share this year and beyond.”
ACT customers agree the company will continue to flourish. Claire Koeneman, co-president of Financial Relations Board, has relied on ACTs conferencing services for nearly 10 years to communicate both internally and externally. She said, “In todays competitive marketplace, it seems most vendors provide either excellent solutions or customer service, but not both. Thats where ACT is different. The company combines a unique level of personal customer service with all the feature-rich services we want and need at a price that makes sense. ACT is a trusted vendor.”
Moving forward, ACT plans to increase its market share in several key vertical markets and expects to continue to build out its channel distribution strategy worldwide. “By having the foresight and agility to adapt to an evolving market while maintaining our high standards and commitment to customers, we believe we are well positioned for long-term sustainability,” Bogard added.
